Our Trips Spring Tubing and Skiing Big Air Outdoor Reggae Party
Everyone loves a good day time party, especially when there is big air skiing and boarding, costumes, tubing, live reggae music and delicious New England beers involved. We’re bringing you over to the biggest spring reggae fest outside of Jamaica, and our friends over at Amesbury Sports Park are playing host.
Have you ever seen a big air competition? Just like the X games and Olympics, skiers and boarders fly high and far through the air and competing for prizes by pulling off insane tricks. For everyone else, there will be a tubing / pond skimming contest with tons of prizes awarded for best costume and the skimmer-with-the-most-style. Amesbury will also have a few public lanes open, so we can all get our tubing on. The park is known for its steep slopes with tubers averaging over 35 mph!
The Green Lion Crew, a reggae band from Portsmouth, NH will be playing from the top deck all day long, and there will be an outside ice bar and ‘Teeny Bikini Martini” ice luge. Keep an eye out for the snow sculpting contest as five participating sculptors will create incredible works of art from snow and ice throughout the day.
After the prizes are awarded, the party continues with DJ Flex and the Smuttynose Splashdown Party. Smuttynose Brewers will be bidding farewell to winter’s icy grip and toasting the arrival of spring with the introduction of Hanami, their newest seasonal beer. A full pub menu and bar are available with appetizer and drink specials.
So be sure to hit up your local thrift store for some funky costumes. We’ll be rocking our ‘80s onesie-ski suits!
