Our Trips The 19 Hole Adventure - Disc Golf & Beer Tasting
Disc golf, frisbee golf, frolf, disc, bee, call it whatever you want. We just have one word for it…awesome. Prepare to be taken to where you’ve likely never been before - Athol, Massachusets. We’ve got an amazing day of disc golf, delicious BBQ, and the finest craft beers this side of the Mississippi.
While the rest of Boston sleeps off their hangovers, we’ll meet bright and early in downtown Boston to begin our day. Get some rest on the van, because you’ll need your energy as we drive, chip, and putt our way through a scenic, wooded 18-hole disc golf course in central MA. Don’t know much about disc golf, you say? Have no fear. Our experienced guides have a few rounds under their belts and will be happy to share some tips with you on how to curve around that tree or extricate your disc from the dense undergrowth you just drove into. After the first 9 holes, you’ll emerge to a full BBQ spread and cold beverages (courtesy of our friends from Blue Ribbon BBQ) complete with pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans, cornbread, and some of their famous southern style BBQ sauces. But don’t eat too much. You’ll need to stay nimble for the back 9. The winner receives a very official Urban Escapes ‘Green Jacket’, as is customary with all the great frisbee golfers.
After we’re finished with the round, we’ll head to our favorite 19th hole. Just 10 minutes down the road is one of Massachusett’s greatest breweries. This place doesn’t distribute their beer outside of the restaurant, so this is sure to be a unique experience. We’ll get a tour of the facility from their brew master and then unwind as he leads us in a guided sampling of their custom brews.
We’ll be back to the city at 6:00 pm feelin’ good and buzzed.
