Why is this ‘The Perfect 10’ Trip?  There are a few great reasons - first of which is that we’ll be up in the White Mountains for October 10, 2010 (10/10/10)! Our guides have two decades of combined experience trekking the New England back country and this isn’t your standard leaf-peeper weekend trip where you’ll run into dozens of families on the trail. We’re hooking you up with two nights of luxury cabin camping in the heart of the White Mountains and the best hikes and views of your life.

We’ll depart from Boston at 9:00 am on Saturday en route to the trail head in central NH on the western side of the White Mountain National Forest. The first day’s hike will be short and flat, taking us through classic NH forest that is sure to be showered in golden reds, oranges and yellows that our beautiful region is known for. We’ll settle in to camp early and cook up an amazingly delicious dinner and fireside s’mores before hitting the sack to rest up for Sunday’s hike. You’ll certainly sleep well as we’ll be getting the ‘perfect 10’ treatment in our mountainside log cabin - complete with most civilized amenities. Rise and shine to the smell of a tasty home cooked breakfast before heading up Mt. Moosilauke, the westernmost 4,000+ foot peak in NH. We’ll take our time as parts of this ascent can be more technical than your average stroll around another New England mountain. On the top, unbroken views prevail in every direction including a direct line of sight to Mt. Washington, some 60 miles in the distance. This is a view you will remember for your entire life as the jaw dropping fall colors cascade down the mountainsides around you.

The hike down the mountain will take us directly to a privately maintained 70 year old fully operational rustic mountain lodge. This place is really unbelievable. We’ll spend the night eating the lodge’s famous dinner and relaxing in front of the roaring fireplace. Retreating to our bunk rooms, you’re sure to get some of the best sleep of your life. In the morning, you can wake up early and enjoy the one-of-a-kind sunrise (or sleep in!) before we head back to Boston with plenty of time to unwind and realize that choosing to come on this trip just might be the best decision you’ve ever made.
